I Have Nobody to Talk About This: The Journey of Pursuing a Dream Alone

Lately, I haven’t written much about programming, but rest assured, new articles are on their way. I’ve been feeling a lack of motivation. That doesn’t mean I’ve been sitting around binge-watching Netflix or gaming, though. I keep working because I know that doing nothing only makes things worse.

Recently, I watched some YouTube videos featuring experienced coaches discussing motivation and life choices. They shared fascinating stories: people who spent 20 years in accounting transitioning to drawing, or a high-level corporate manager with 30 years of experience leaving to start a business making strudels.

What stood out in these stories was the energy and passion these individuals radiated. When you meet people like this, their enthusiasm is contagious — it makes you want to pick up a pencil and start sketching or head to the kitchen to bake strudels yourself.

When I share my plans and dreams with friends or family, though, their responses often discourage me. I hear things like, “That won’t work,” or “You’re not good enough.” Eventually, I stopped discussing my goals with them.
